I just got finished fixing a stalling problem however not like ours, I did have to check some ignition stuff because I didn't know what it was. You didn't say you checked your plug wire's. So I'd check those out too along with your ignition module. You can take that into Auto Zone as well to check it out. It's not much but maybe it'll help.

I forgot to ask if this is fuel injected?

Can you get it to catch if you give it a little gas??? If so you might want to check your idle air control valve... those thigs go pretty often...

I'd try spraying some starting fluid in the throttle body/carb while cranking it. If it starts then you know its a problem with the fuel system. If not, then its electrical.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to "on"?
If the fuel filter hasn't been changed in a while, then it would be a good idea to get a new one now (although this probably isn't the problem)

Just somewhere to start. Sorry I can't help more.

I've used the starting fluid trick a few times myself, it works good. Have you verified that you actually have spark? Sounds to me like a blown fuel pump fuse, relay or bad fuel pump. That'll stop ya dead in your tracks. All 4.3 trucks have at least Toilet bowl injection so you will have an in tank pump. You can verify voltage at the connector leading to the fuel pump, if no voltage the fuse or relay is shot. If there is voltage then time to drop the tank down
