Red face Clicking or chattering sound from under car?!

Hello,

88GT Convertible with stock t-5.

I am hearing a clicking or chattering sound (almost like a loose exhaust pipe - but its not) under my car around the bellhousing area.

I had my clutch replaced 2 months ago including a pilot bushing and throwout bearing.

The clicking occurs both when my foot is on and off the clutch pedal. It happens at idle and gets increasingly worse to a point as the rpms go up (if im moving - if I rev theres no change).

I've been told it could be the throwout bearing. When I approached the shop that did the work they laughed in my face pretty much and told me it was mechanically impossible for the t/o bearing to be making that noise with the pedal in and out. And they didnt want to look at it.

I have no problems shifting into gears.

I also had the shop replace my rear main motor seal. It still leaks a bit and I just discounted it as maybe the oil pan gasket. I've read that oil dripping on the t/o bearing could have causes it to go bad real fast.

Any help?

I have a sound just like that coming from one of my cats or from my muffler i think it is a chunk of rusted metal that broke off the in side of my cut off tail pipe and now it vibrates at idle and gets wrose as the rpms go up.
You know your cats are pretty close to your tranny/bell housing so that could be the same noise that i have. sorry if this does not help just trying to help.

My guess would be something (possibly parking brake cable) rubbing on driveshaft.
