				 | T-5 swap & cable clutch problem Hey all, I'm in the process of doing a T-5 swap in my 65 and I'm also doing a cable clutch conversion at the same time. My flywheel is large enough to accept a 10 1/2" clutch, so I bought an 89 clutch set in order to get the diaphragm style over my old 3-finger setup. I also bought a later-model clutch fork for the cable conversion. Unfortunately, the bolt pattern on the clutch is different from my flywheel so I ended up taking it back. The guy at the parts store then brought out a 68 clutch which was also diaphragm style and happened to fit my bolt pattern. The problem now is...the 68 throw-out bearing doesn't fit on the later-model clutch fork. Can I use a later-model throw-out bearing on a 68 clutch? If not, can my 65 rod-style clutch fork be modified to accept a cable clutch? I don't mind having to go back to the 65 clutch if necessary...I just want to get this done at this point. Thanks for any responses. |
