Brian, of course I know you're not trying to make me look dumb or anything. You don't even have to mention that.

Forgive me, but when I said that 2nd was the torquiest gear, I was not even thinking about 1rst (of course you really have no way of knowing this unless I write it ) b/c 1rst seems to go so fast (when racing--- at least to me, someone who is relatively new to racing manual trannies). The FEW races that I've had in the car seem to only spend time in 2nd 3rd and 4rth. Moreover, I'm not even able to use 1rst to it's full potential b/c my posi (traction Lok) is out-- tire just spins.

Anyway, I haven't felt it in 1rst yet, or any other gear. I'll find out if it really is the clutch one way or another for sure, soon. Thanks for taking the time to add your input, though. Later...
