![]() You don't need the EGR spacer since it is cast into the manifold. I have the Cobra intake, but I have a non-EGR plenum spacer. My upper intake gets mildly warm, nothing like on a stock mustang where you can't even touch it.

![]() do you mean you have a spacer so the upper intake is higher up? do you have the 3/4 or one inch?

![]() I think he is, and some of them have the EGR passage blocked off on the spacer, therefore eliminating the hot air passageway to the upper intake and the egr valve. Do you get a check engine light when you eliminate the passageway like this, and does it affect performance in a negative way, such as I have read about the EGR system being blocked?

![]() Yeah, I have the BBK 3/8" spacer that blocks off the EGR into the upper. I honestly can't tell you how it effects my car cause I installed everything in my sig at the same time. It runs pretty good, has a little surge at idle but if you rev it a little it idles down nicely. It's an 87, so I don't have a check engine light.....and I haven't scanned it yet so I don't know if it throws the light on, but I think it would. I just plugged off the vacuum lines that go to the valve, if I have any problems that I can pinpoint to the EGR I will let you guys know.
DemonGT: If you plan on getting the Cobra intake, you should get a plenum spacer since the vacuum port on the bottom of the plenum rests on my valve cover, so it would definatly hit without the spacer. ------------------ 87 GT, BBK shorty's, offroad H-pipe, ASP pullies, 70mm T.B., Cobra intake, no smog pump, Windsor Jr irons, Comp cams 1.6 rollers, F303 cam, H.D. export W.P., Tri-Ax, FMS subframes, Battle boxes, SSM liftbars, FMS King Cobra clutch, mass-air conversion, 73mm C&L, 24lb injectors, BBK fuel pressure regulator, 3/8" no EGR spacer, and other piddly sh*t. |

![]() Thanks for the very informative EGR blocking info, but how can you say to get a spacer with the Cobra intake, or a vacuum fitting will hit the valve cover? There are probably millions running this intake without the spacer and no fitting clearance issues, including myself. Maybe you installed the fitting in the wrong location?

![]() You're right Mach 1, I'll clarify. I should have said the PCV instead of vacuum for one thing, I'm talking about the metal fitting that screws into the lower part of the plenum above the drivers side valve cover. I used the new fitting that came with the manifold, and it is at least a half inch longer than the fitting on the stock intake. So maybe that's why mine rests on my valve cover. I'd post a pic of it but I'm at work.
