cobra rockers in stock cam?
IŽve been searching for the right cam, but couldnŽt decide for any. Does it worth replacing the stock rockers for the 1:7 cobra ones and keeping the stock cam? IŽll increase lift, but probably wonŽt reach the full potential of my GT40Ps.
Custom grind are expensive, not sure if itŽs worth. Help!! |
i'll say this, if you never plan on changing the cam, then yes you will see gains with the 1.7's. if you plan on changing the cam then go with 1.6 roller rockers and the cam of your choice. it is best to do this to have good valvetrain geometry

I have the cobra rockers on the stock cam. It works good on my engine combo I think.:D

stock cam
Definitely wait til you have the funds for a cam! You'll regret it if you don't, trust me. I'm not familiar with the prices of custom ground cams, but some of the cams from Lunati, Crane, & even the Ford alphabet cams will still boost your power plenty, over the stock set up, and not break your wallet.

Probably the easiest and cheapest way would be pick the E cam, but IŽam afraid of poor idle with my stock computer. I havenŽt heard complaints on other cams (TFS stage 1 IŽll need valve springs; Crane 2031 1:7 rockers and Compcam XE274HR, which I think would satisfy my needs, demands valve springs too)
