Code 87 Problem
Hi guys,
I just installed a 91 5.0 and all engine controls into a non-ford car ( an Rx-7 ) . This is going to be a smog-legal project, so i have to get it right. The car is running and I got the check engine light working but the fuel pump error code 87 comes up and keeps the cel light on, so I have to clear that. (code 87 (oc): FP relay circuit failure- suspect inertia switch, fusible link, FP relay. ) I did not use the ford relay when wiring up the rx-7, I used the stock Mazda set-up. I'm getting strange reading of 6-7 volts on pin 19 of the ecu even though the wire is cut . I think I may get rid of the code by applying 12v to pin 19, but thought I'd run this by you first, as I don't want to blow up the ecu . Here is a copy of the schematic : http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sgcpa1...?.dir=/c324scd Sorry for the lack of detail on the picture, I can e-mail a better diagram to you if your interested . Thanks for any help. |
Re: Code 87 Problem
Tell me what wire color it is and I'll go put my meter on it...pin 19 on the ecu...I'll check the voltage for ya.

Re: Code 87 Problem
Thanks,
It's dark green and yellow. You can also catch that wire at c213 the green connector next to the ecu here is a url that wil work better http://webpages.charter.net/kgoldste.../fuelpump4.jpg |
