Cold Air Intake - Fenderwall mount or Standard?

Ok....if i want a cold air intake for my 88 GT ..what are the pros and cons for getting a fenderwall mounted one...and also for a Standard mounted one? I have speed density if that makes a difference

I have had my mac fenderwell CAI for years. I bought it when I was still speed density and when I converted to mass air I just cut about four inches out of it to make room for the mass air sensor.

It looks pretty but I didnt run a damn bit faster at the track. :D

I bought mine to mainly keep the filter away from the under the hood heat. I cant think of any cons with the fenderwell CAI.

Had a friend in Cali, that had a dyno and did a test with just that, the 90 degree elbow for the "in the fender" filter, cost 3-4 hp on that particular car, also picked up 1 hp from a larger (longer) K&N filter verses the short ones. Hey every pony counts!CAI isn't Cold air though if you don't put it in the fender, there are other products though to protect the filter from the hot air when not in the fender.

Dont by anything, unless it is a power pipe.
