![]() anyone running the ex274 with a stock bottom end and 1.6 rr and 1.9 valves and have any clearance problems the cam spec's are 224/232 .555/.565 112lsa

![]() That is a nice cam! Your however most likely looking at flycuting. I would keep the cam and notch the pistons.

![]() My setup is 302 stock bottom end with edelbrock 6037's with some work,1.6rr,gt40 intake lower ported, 70mm tb,75mm mass air,24 lbs,afpr,190pump,long tubes,2 ½ flowmaster,355 gears and it’s a 5spd and im looking for a power bad from 2000-6000

![]() We have a Hr 266 on a stock bottom. I have also put a WG1087on a stock bottom. The 274, if it winds up working, please let me know.

![]() I am running 61cc Holley heads with 1.6rr and dss pistons with the xe274hr cam, and have plenty of clearance, i gonna swop the cam for an anderson n-71 w/ .576/.576 and 232/240.

![]() that cam should fit without clearance problems. someone on here was using it. mustangbelle maybe?
But I would stay away from it. Its to big for your combo and will more than likely cause driveability problems. |

![]() We worry about drivability problems?? Joking....you may notice some due to vacuum loss at low load. If you find someone that is running the cam without any problems great. However, sorry it has taken so long but the closest cam I could find that will fit is the Lunati #51028 camshaft (221/232 @ .050 - .526/.530 Lift - 111 LSA) it should flow with your heads good.
Don't cut yourself short with cam selection by being scared of driving issues....that is why we buy chips.....that is unless you can persuade 88workcar to tune your car for you.....he is the man!! Nice work with the SD 88workcar Murdock Last edited by Murdock; 02-18-2003 at 11:10 AM.. |

![]() The whole idea behind the extreme energy cam line is a new ramp design, that is supposed to give you much better low end vacuum, than what you would see with a comperable cam.
I'm hearing good things from most everybody that has one. |

![]() I'm running that cam in my 83 and I love it. Its a big healthy cam that people will notice when you pull into an intersection. It has a good idle but people notice its cammed. Maybe in a FI car it will be a little more smooth but it hasn't given me any vacuum problems that I can think of.
I have TRW flat top pistons, but they do have notches in them so just check to make sure you have valve clearance before you fire it up. I have a Windsor Jrs on my car and this cam is way to big for them. They can't flow nearly enough to keep up. I think that is why I am down on power compared to similar combos. |
