Default control arm install??

Well i can probaly handle the install of my lakewood lca's, my question is, while im down there, should i go ahead and replace the shocks with 50/50's? also since the rear spring will be freed up, could i replace those as well with hand tools and a driveway? i have impact tools and everything usually needed available besides a lift....thnx for any advice,

the rear end really squats on launch, but i still cut close to 1.7's, my goal is 1.7's without swapping gears at this time.

I'm not sure if i got the question complete right about the rear springs, but when you take the lower control arms off to switch out, the springs basically fall out of the car. So yeah you can change them with hand tools and a driveway. I put lakewood lower control arms on with a floor jack, two breaker bars and a good socket set. Just make sure the car is held off the ground by the frame and not the rear axle/suspension cuz if its held up by teh suspension there will be all sorts of compression in your springs and they're gonna fly outta there when you unbolt the lower control arms.

Thanx, i do know about jacking car up from frame, instructions state this, i guess you answered my question about the springs, i wasnt sure if they came all the way out, seems like a good time to replace them with some new stock springs, since mine are probaly worn, guess i'll hold off on the shocks and put more money in my cyl head fund hehe.......appreciate it.

make sure you mark the location of the end of the springs before you take them out. I didn't mark mine and when i went to put the spring back in , they rubbed the new control arms the wrong way and i had to take it all apart and fiddle around so everything had clearance...

Agent is right the end of the coil should be facing one way. I think it should be aligned with the control arm towards the rear of the car.

oh, so now you tell me, well, i have a spring out already, so far so good, but looks like the bottom isolator is trashed, dry rotted, im gonna try and get to the parts store to replace it before the spring goes back in, i guess i'll try and make sure there is clearance
