I have all 4cyl control arms. I welded a plate on the open side of them, to "box" them for strength. I also intalled poly bushings. I also welded up every bit of the torque boxes.
With a grand spirits, my car has cut a 1.70 60 ft. and as good as 1.54 with a set of 26 x 10 hoosiers. Most people think my car flys, it don't, it just gets out the hole real good. But don't let anyone tell you that stock arms are not worth fooling with.
