Top- Install Questions?
I've got to put a new top on my GT. Does anybody have any tips on how to do this ?Should I take it to a shop and have it done?
I do have the time to do it at home, so time isn't a factor. |

I installed one several years ago on an older LTD. It's a lot of work, but if you're good with your hands and can read the instructions, you'll wind up with a decent job. Be sure and put new pads on and get a quality top.
Be careful when pulling the old top and remove all the old staples. I bought an electric stapler, cause there are one heck of a lot of staples to install. It will probably take you almost two days to do it for the first time.

I'm not replacing the fabric.... I'm replacing the WHOLE top mechanism, rag, framework, rams, lines everthing! all in one unit. Do you think that will make it easier? Oppossed to just the rag.
