I thought long and hard about installing my own top.

I eventually decided to pay someone else to do it. I am glad I did. It cost me about $390 including two new top cables that run in the frame. I figured it was worth them doing it right once, vs. me screwing it up and buying another top.

I think MM&FF did an article on it one time. They said it was not too bad to do themselves, but they had an expert with them who knew what to do, and kept them out of trouble.

The only work I have not done on my car myself was the top installation and rolling the fenders. All other repairs and modifications have been done by me in my garage.

For me, it was worth it.
