Unhappy bubbling in the coolant overflow tank?!?

as soon as you turn the car on (maybe with in 30 seconds) the coolant that is sitting in the overflow bottle starts to bubble, and it bubbles for 10 seconds after you turn the car off... Is my brand new, like 300 miles on it, head gasket shot?

head gasket sounds like a good assumption to me, same thing happened with mine when my head gasket went south, did you have it done or did you replace the head gaskets yourself? if you did them, did you have your heads flattened to make sure they would seal properly? also you didnt use anykind of sealant on the gaskets did you? did you re-use the stock head bolts? if so, they are probably streatched and didn't torque properly, good luck with it

Just thought I'd add a little to what fiveohpatrol mentioned about head bolts. The head bolts on newer cars are called torque-to-yield and can only be used once.

i used ARP head bolts, torqued to spec... no we didn't have the heads plained, we are thinking that the head gaskets blew because we had a cooling problem prior, and a spark problem. I also believe that it leaned out on the top end in third gear when i was making my pass, and combined with the 240 deg. temp's the motor saw, the head gasket blew. I have since added a larger fuel pump, and next is a bigger set of injectors
