Coolant in the passenger compartment
Guys, I had a Novi 1000 installed last sat and a couple of days later, during a road test for my tranny, BOOM, one of my heater hoses at the firewall burst.
Is was a ***** to change. I had to disconnect the burst hose completely (of course) and the other hose at the firewall so I had some room to move. I didn't change the second hose and put it back on once I had replaced the burst piece. I am praying that I do not have a damaged heater core in the car....any input guys? Anyone had this problem and had to resolve it?

I'm getting ready to take out the heater core and eliminate the extra mile of hoses/tubes under the hood. So if you find yourself needing a heater core, you can have mine.

well it's a heater core when you changed the hose was it the factory hose if it was inside of it it should have a grommet that reduces the diameter inside the hose to relieve coolant pressure on the heater core and if you don't reuse the grommet inside the new hose it will blow out the heater core everytime i've had it happen a few times i don't even have the heater core or tube assembly hooked up on my coupe or my cobra after i changed the heater core in my cobra twice (what a pain in the arse) i said screw it and just did away with it.

I didn't use that grommet, I guess that is the source of my problem.
If I wanted to, how do I bypass the HC? Just a hose from the output to the input connectors on the engine block?

you can either use one of the hoses going to the hc and just bend it around to loop both sides of the tube together or you can take the whole tube assembly off the intake and stick a fitting in the hole.
