The cost of stepping up
I have owned my 88, from 92 to now. I have had many dreams of what I want. I just set the motor of my dreams into my car. I have been building this for 3 1/2 years now. I have had NOS, a turbo, and quite a few POS's. This one is just 342ci, but is suppose to come in close to 600hp. We'll all see real soon, including me. A few of you all have been asking spec. on this motor and I finally have them and time to tell.
342ci short block stud girdle canton pan TFS HIGH PORTS 2.125 in. 1.60ex. Titanium springs, locks & retainers The flow #s are 319 and 213 cam motion solid roller 714 / 728 - 267 / 276 stud girdle 1.7 RR ported super victor 780 custom built pro systems carb Spec stage 3+ clutch, SFI lakewood housing 2" X 3 1/2" KOOKS headers New starter sumped stock tank, Aeromotive 1000 pump, hose and reg 14 X 4 K&N with breather top also. All of this was an enormous amount of money, but the cost that I am refering to is, The TIME, the HEARTACH, the PROBLEMS, the CUTTING, NOTCHING, FITTING, PHONE CALLS, more MONEY, So much unforseen stuff that you would never dream of. But we all love it, and so we endure and carry on. I love it it is in me and will not go away any time soon. I will post dyno # and track testing # a week before Fun Ford at Noproblemracewaypark. If GOD allows me to. Also some more PICs.

Re: The cost of stepping up
I'd like to see you run a factory speed density with that setup!
good luck with the new motor, sounds like it should run well. What trans are you going to use?

Re: The cost of stepping up
The cost of stepping up has been insane for me this time around.
M&R street thunder 331 stroker shortblock, all forged and girdled $2,300.00 Comp cams stroker Cam $240.00 Bee hive springs, titanium retainers and locks $500.00 Comp cams roller lifters $200.00 Pushrods 100 bux Roller rockers $300.00 Comp cams Billet double roller timing set $140.00 Canton 7qt oil pan $240.00 Edelbrock performer RPM II intake $600.00 Aluminum flywheel $300.00 Clutch $350.00 Thank god I already had the Heads. I still need to buy headers and a fuel system!!!!!!!! I guess if it was cheap everyone would be fast. I envy you 88workcar, I am still months away from being done.
