Post Cost of AOD to T5

I want to do this swap now. Does anyone have a good conversion kit cheap that includes everything. Thanks?

BTW: Anyone want to buy a rebuilt AOD around maryland? Still in car to test.

Try www.stangparts.com they have conversion kits. You will get the parts much cheaper if you buy them from junk yards/individuals. I paid $700 total for all of my conversion parts including a used (40k miles) T5. I'm not sure what the current price is at stang parts, but it's worth a check.

It is not cheap. You will need a T-5, bellhousing, clutch, pilot bushing, cable, pedal, a good shifter, and a center console. (I don't know if the auto console can be modified)

Your crossmember, driveshaft, and trans mount will still work.

I'm going the other way, so I have some of the parts such as flywheel, FMS HD clutch assembly, clutch fork, stock cable and a few other things. I've got a pedal assembly, but at the moment its still in the car until I locate an AOD pedal assembly to replace it with. I've still got a stock T5 out of the car as well.

However, for the AOD I'm still looking for a dipstick & tube, pedal assembly, wiring harness and dust cover.

There are a couple of guys around here that will swap a t-5 into your aod stang for $1k complete. I've been told its actually harder to swap the aod into a t-5 stang. Go figure.
