Could I have hurt something???
Ok on our way home last night from the fireworks, I stopped to show my wife how the line-lock works. I did my normal routine with it in 2nd gear, ran it up to about 3500 and started letting the clutch out. The car bogged a little so I gave ot more gas, and it started to rev higher like the tires were spinning. So I held it about 4500, and I couldn't hear the tires spinning like I usually do. Instead it sounded like I was pushing my front tires while they were locked. The car was moving some which seems to be normal for me on these burn outs. So I released the lock, and the car started moving slowly, like the tires were spinning a lot. After I finally got it up to speed in 2nd gear, I slowed down some and we went home. Well as I came up to a stope sign, the clutch felt REAL weak. Almost felt like my brakes do when I have excessive fade from heat and use. So I took it easy the rest of the way home, with it smelling like burnt brakes. Almost like a semi going down a hill. Anyways, I checked the spot today where I did the burn out, and NOTHING. No marks in the road at all. So, what happened? Did I start to burn out my clutch somehow?? The car smelt like brakes again today after I took it for a ride, and the clutch still feels funny. Its not engaging as low as it used to. When I dropped it in 2nd to pass somebody, it took right off and I couldn't feel the clutch slipping, but it doesn't feel right in traffic when shifting or starting off either. Please help because I can not afford to be buying a new clutch, or anything else for that matter right now. The clutch has about 30,000 miles on it.
