Question EFI to Carb

I have an '86 Capri RS 5.0 5speed
I have a Performer RPM intake with a
Holley 600 carb that I would like to
switch and replace all the EFI components.
Would like to know if anyone has a 'checklist' of items to make sure I'm
covering all bases. I have an Holley elec.
fuel pump, but pretty sure I need a pickup
to go in the tank to replace the stock in
tank pump for EFI. I have the throttle cable
for the carb, I guess my main concern is the
distributor etc. What is my best choice for
distributor and electronics? The car will not
be driven on street hardly at all and will not see any winters or rain, etc.
I would like to do away completely with all
harnesses and wire it all myself if it is
easier.
If anyone has done this and can point out
anything I'm forgetting, or can give any info
that I can download, books to buy, etc,
please respond.
Thanks.
