Could use a little help with cam choice for AFR 165's
I plan on keeping it N/A with the AFR 165 heads with either 58cc or 60cc chambers. The intake will be a GT-40 along with all the usual bolt-on stuff. I want to be able to pass emissions in NJ so I'll be running 1-5/8" shorties and a hi-flo cat h-pipe. Considering the exhaust flow potential with the AFR's should I choose a single pattern cam or could I use an exhaust favoring grind since I'll be running shorties and cats. Bear in mind I don't want a radical grind since the car is a '94 and also the need to pass emissions. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

An e-303 would work nice but you would be better off calling comp cams and letting them recommend a cam for your combo.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from what is called the "alphabet" cams- the FMS B,E,F,X etc. I can almost guarantee you that if you put on a E303 the car will not idle since its a 94, even though it is an emissions legal unit. I'm having Ed Curtis grind me a cam for my AFR setup on my 95GT, if it doesn't idle when I'm done I'll just have some tuning done to it. I've been told that the anderson ford motorsport blower cam B-3 works well on the 94-95 in naturally aspirated setups, but this info came from anderson FMS, I'd check around if I were you and see if anyone is actually running it on their SN95.
