CP Pistons
Anyone ever hear any good/bad things about CP pistons. These are the ones used in NASCAR as far as I know. Are they worth the added expense over Ross, JE, Manley? I need high quality pistons for a future procharger blower motor (351W, carbureted) at about 8.8:1 compression and 10-15 lbs of boost, making 500-600 horses.

I have CP pistons in my new motor. One could make the arguement that $1000 for a set of pistons is nuts, I wouldnt argue that point too much.. hehe
My pistons are pretty lightweight, and they are holding up very well. Right now my shortblock is in my friends Real Street spec car. It has held up to 30+ dyno pulls, and 1 full day of track testing so far! hehe... It makes 540 horse at the wheels @ 7250. It would have made more, but we are having problems with the car shutting off between 5700 and 6100. Anyway, check in to Diamond pistons too. A friend of mine got (what sounds like a real good set) for around $600. Andy |
CP are, IMO, the best pistons available.

Hey Thanks for the input guys. Depends on how much the engine combo costs if I'll go with CPs or Ross.
(sorry for taking so long to reply, I don't have internet at work or at home) |
I use ROSS in my current motor. I like them REALLY well. I've heard good things about CP but i think Ross is better IMO.
