Question crane 2030 cam

I need a small cam. I am currently having the engine rebuilt stock except for the mods listed below, and because of the 3.08 gear and the fact that it is my only car I don't want a lopey cam. But I want something that will give it a little rumble. I hear the crane 2031 is slower than the stock cam, and crane recommended the 2030 to me as it is a little bigger than the 2031. The 2030's specs are - Duration: 216/220, Lift: .500/.512, and 112 sep. angle. Has anyone used this cam or do you know where I can find a review on it? Should I leave the stock cam in it? Thanks

It really depends on your set-up. Also you dont have the specs of the cam correct.
216/220 112 DLS and .533 .544 is the correct lift for the Crane 2030.
I have it in my car, nice idle a little lopey and sounds sweet, great low-mid range power to about 6000rpm.
Then again it is a good blower cam not sure if it is the best n/a cam.
Others on this board know a lot more than me on the subject.

I noticed the 2031 advertises specs assuming 1.7's. Are the 2030 specs given for 1.6's? If so I might have a problem with clearance. My exact set up is N/A, stock H.O. pistons/crank/rods, stock '85 heads with a 3-angle valve job, stock headers, stock ignition, Edelbrock performer intake (unported), and 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor. Tranny is stock T-5 and rear end is 3.08. Tires are stock height. I really need to maintain a lot of low end power because it will mostly be driven redlight to redlight in traffic.
