Default Crazy Idea

Hey has anyone ever thought of putting a hi po 5.0 in a lo po Vic? I think it would be a real sleeper. I have a carbed 5.0 and a nice AOD. Would the 5.0 bolt in? How about AOD fit in. How about the Automatic already in it? Could it hold up to some more horses? I think it would be very unique. Be just like the LTD in MIB. Tell me what you think guys! It would just be a cruzer

Well you would have the horsepower, but with all that weight you'd be at such a disadvantage! If I was going to do a project like that I would pick a 351W or something.

I don't see why the Hi Po 5.0L would not fit in place of the Lo Po 5.0L, Bellhousing bolt pattern may be different (?)

As for the transmssion, not being an AOD guy, don't know, the dimensions may not line up, or they might!?.

Not sure what the rear end is, if it is an 8.8" or what. If it is not atleast an 8.8" I would want to swap one in. With all that weight to push you could break something easy.

Overall I wouldn't do it, but projects like this are always subject to personal taste!

Lightbulb Crown Vic 5.0 transplant

This works and has been done many times before.

The problem is the extra weight of the Crown Victoria kills the power. You'll go from a low 14-second Mustang to a very high 15-second Crown Vic. No sleeper there.

Along with the 5.0, you need a 4.10 rear, worked AOD and usually a power adder, all of which would give you a high-13-second Crown Vic.

For the same money, you could have a low 12-second Mustang.

If you just want a better-than-average Crown Vic then a H.O. 5.0 is cool, but don't expect much more than passable performance.
