Cruise Control not working

How do I get to the piece that is mounted inside the fender to see if that is what is bad on my cruise control? Thanks.

Have you ever had your speedometer gear out for anything (clutch replacement etc.)? If so then check the wires that come off of the speedo cable piece, I think this is where the input comes from. When I did my trans last I ripped the orange wire off (I think that is that right color) and my speed control doesn't work. Try this first.

To get to the cruise you pull out the drivers side plastic wheel well, it's right behind it. It's a big round looking thing that has a couple wires and a couple vacuum lines coming out of it. I took mine out from my 85 so if everything isn't exactly the same it's close. There is also a black box near your clutch pedal called the amplifier(the brain). You also will want to check the button on your steering wheel, and I think there is a link to the speedo input also as 88GT5.0 said. If you need more help I can probably lead you to your problem thru email just let me know. Hope this helps!

AxemanZZ, I've been wondering the same thing. My cruise doesn't work either and I am wanting to figure out how to get it working again. Some of these long trips seem longer with no cruise. If you can get it figured out, let me know what it was if you could. WOuld appreciate it.

Chris
