Question 96 to 98 gt with a vortech blower ,, have a question 4 you !

Ok ,

I am getting a BLOWER ,

I just came across a deal for a vortech blower and I wanted to know from the guys that have a 96 to 98 gt and have a vortech what size injector do you have on the car and are you able to run pump gas ? Also whats the size of boost you are running ?

Also please look at my sig and let me know if there is anything else that I should get to make sure that my car will run safe with this 8# boost !

I would be careful about the "Plastic" intake we have. I have had to replace mine, several friends have had to do the same. I would think that the seams around the front and sides would be weak, and prone to failure under boost. but, that's just my opinion. I have never had a blower, I just know a couple guys that did on this type car and they soon replaced their intake.... Good luck though...

you can use your 19# injectors,but i would use 24# to be on the safe side at 8psi.make sure it comes with a fmu so it will spike the fuel pressure and set it at 80 for 19# and 70psi for 24#,also you may need a custom chip to set timing and fuel curves.92 or 93 pump gas is fine,but no more than 8psi or you will have to get bigger injectors and a aftercooler,and better gas.

I would get 36# injectors and then you should be fine to upgrade to 10lbs in the future. I think its better to get a little larger injector and run a lower fuel pressure, then getting too small of an injector and maxing out the FP.
You'll have to get your MAF recalibrated, and a custom dyno tuned chip is a VERY good idea.

The only guy that I know with a 96-98 GT that's SC is Hammer. He blew up his plastic intake under 8 psi, so I would be careful about that.

I would also think that 30# injectors or better would be a good idea (I would probably consider 42# or 36#).

Default Chips

DO NOT ORDER CUSTOM CHIPS FOR PWR. MODS LIKE SUPERCHARGING....YOU NEED TO CUSTOM TUNE TO PROPERLY SET FUEL AIR MIXTURE AND ADVANCE THRU THE ENTIRE RPM RANGE. I HAVE BLOWN 3 MOTORS BY MAKING A FEW MISTAKES LIKE LISTENING TO THE EXPERTS AT VORTECH AND USING MAIL ORDER CUSTOM CHIPS. COULD WRITE A BOOK ON MY MISTAKES1

Chico - 510 rwhp?

Wow. Do you drive it on the street? With the near 18% loss through the drivetrain you are looking at about 602 bhp. {whistle}
