Custom burned chip questions
I don't know a thing about the computer in these cars and I was wondering if I should get a custom chip. I am pretty well finished with my engine except for a set of heads and a 70mm TB. If I get the chip now, will I have to get a new one after I get the heads and TB? Or are they reprogrammable?
Also, where is a good place to get a chip and do I need to take my car to them? My major mods include ported stock heads which are shaved ,030 and 3 angle valve job, GT-40 intake, f303 cam, 76mm C&L, 24lb injectors, 65mm TB, cold air, underdrive pullies, A/C and smog pump delete, long tubes and full exhaust. Hey Kev, if I were you I would try Chris Johnson Motorsports, he sends you 5 chips, one he thinks should be right on, one 2% rich, one 4% rich and also 2% lean and 4% lean. That way you can play with them and find which one is best for your setup and if you aren't happy with those he does 5 more and so on untill you are happy with it... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/cool.gif And yes they can be re-programed but that isn't cheap ethier...
------------------ 92GT all the free stuff and a few bolt-ons, lowered with Ebiach's and Koni's, Kenny Brown subframe connectors, lower G-brace and jacking rails. BBK upper and lower control arms, polyurethane bushings all around and Ken Bell blower, ram-air, 80mm mass air, etc. |
Sounds like a plan.
