Dark brown plugs\semi melted electrode?

Have about 1100 miles on new engine. See sig. About a week ago it started acting up. Harder to start. Will idle for about 45 secs. to a min. Then die. Had autolite 25's in it. Pulled them all, and they were a dark chocolate brown. and the little tip, or electrodes, were a little rounded. Ran to parts store and bought the Autolite 65's. Also a new cap, rotor, and cleaned the K&N. What is causing this to happen to the plugs guys? Am I using the right heat range on the plugs? Also, I've noticed that most of you guys in here are running on average, between 32 and 38 lbs. of fuel pressure. I'm at about 45 lbs., vacuum line off reg. of course. It won't idle worth a crap or even run below 36 lbs. Any ideas on these gremlins guys. Sure is appreciated largely. Peace.......

detonation?

I haven't had any personal experience with what you are having. Sounds like detonation though.
Do you have pictures of the plugs available for the web?
Sounds like you might have to go to a colder range.
What is your timing at?
Pictures would really help too, there are several smart guys on this site who can tell you much more info than I can.

Thanks for your reply HOZER. I posted this from work. I will get a pic. of the plugs on here a bit later. I did go to a colder plug(Autolite 65).
Anyone else?...............

NOT quite that extreme on the meltdown. :p I've got a week and a half until the opening day of Rocky Mountain Raceway. And I'll be damned if some SS f-body or any other bowtie is gonna show me his *** end at the end of the 1320'. I'll let ya know what transpires Hozer. Thanks for your time and attention to MY problem. This is why I love these types of services. Kool people. Peace........................

Well judging from your name i was gonna reply...well you know, but obviously the juice aint installed?

How do you like those holley heads? with your setup you should show many blowties the stangin tailights.....good luck

Let us know some e.t.'s

oh btw, im sure you know, but dont spray 175 shot with that 155 fuel pump, id go with a 190, or 255 to be safe, that would really melt plugs, i seen a little old carbed 302 with e.t. streets lift the wheels with a 175 shot, i'll never forget the black puff he blew out, as he spanked a c5 vette badly.. i'll stop now lol:D

Your absolutely right on the fuel pump output. I wont sip on the bottle at full giddyup till I learn to tune, and learn to keep it pointed in a semi straight line(barely do now:D ). AND drop the tank and do the swap. As far as the bowties,.....this guy around town has a teal '96 SS CRAMaro with some exhaust work and a chip, and he's been pipin me whenever we pass each other and I've just kept my composure,(teeth gritting:D ), while I was letting everything seat(Moly rings). Well, last weekend we ended up on the same 2 lane road goin the same direction. 40 mph. road. He blips the Borla Y pipe at me to taunt me. Right there I decided that the new powerplant was compfortable enough, and gave him a 3rd. gear hop and he did the same, but did'nt let up. We were off. He had about a car car jump on me. I'm sure all the while thinking he would not be seein me again. I grabbed 4th, and gave him a "bye-bye" wave as I let him get an earfull of X-pipe scream. NOW, he wants me to pull over. So asks me the "WTF have you done to it" greeting. He turned out to be pretty cool all in all though. thanks for everyones (2) replies. Peace.......................
