Dash illumination
Hey guys,
I was wondering something. The little 5 amp fuse in the fuse box doesn't seem to work at least according to my 12 volt tester. I replaced it with a new fuse and it still didn't work. I looked up to see what the fuse does and it operates the radio and the dash illumination. But my radio still works. Its the factory one still. My dash lights don't work either. So I don't know what the deal is. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas. Philip |

The light blub inside the cluster might have gone out  If it did, here is the wireing diagram to out cluster. It's kinda hard to read, but it's better then guessing. :D

another thing it might be is the dimmer switch
on my 88 the variable resistor is shot so if you try to dim the dash lights at all they just go out has to be on full brightness and they work fine |
Thats what is was man, I found that out last night when I was playing with the little switch. Thanks

mike just to let you know, the only way your 12volt tester didnt work, is because you have to have the light switch on. that is how that fuse works not like the others. glad you got the problem solved.

Good point I never thought about that. Do you happen to know how to fix the dimmer switch? The thing is still acting up and I have to mess with it for a while to get it to work. What are your thoughts about it? Thanks man

Hey,
I went to go see how much a new dimmer switch is going to be and they said $84.99!@!@!@! I think there had to have looked something else up. Philip |
