Decent ETs for the Mods
I have a 1990 GT with b303, 1.7s, 70mm TB, pullies, Crane Fireball ignition, full exhaust, 3.55s and Hoosier Q.T.
CAR IS LOWERED 1.5 INCHES (doesn't help) My best so far is 13.69@100.3. I'm thinking I have about 260hp and my ETs aren't going to get much better? |

ET observations
A 13.7 @ 100 isn't bad for just a B303 cam, 1.7's, pulleys, exhaust, 3.55's, and good tires. I think your guesstimate of approx. 260 HP is accurate.
The 70mm TB is a little large for your stock intake & heads. I would try a 65mm if you plan to keep them both. Problem now is that you have a lot of air going in and out of the engine - which is good - but the stock heads can't utilize it efficiently - which is not good. With some tuning and driving practice you might knock off another tenth or so but yeah, you need to upgrade the cylinder heads/intake to see a real et drop. |

my thoughts exactly! I need heads and intake but my budget is just to tight.
Would a 65mm TB work better than 70mm? |

I don't think you would notice much of improvement at all by backing down to a 65mm (well atleast not worth the $).
If you plan on getting heads/intake in the future just stay with what you have. You actually might pick up a little power if you go back to the stock cam too, then again maybe not. If I were you and if your not planning on heads/intake anytime soon, then I'd try to find someone with a 65mm TB that is looking to go up to a 70mm and just trade them. What brand is your 70mm?

stay away from chips until you get your combo pretty much set and you have a custom one burned to your specs. all the off the shelf chips do is advance timing and you can do that manually.
I'd invest in a larger MAF and subframe conectors if I were you. You could also do what I did and find a cheap Explorer intake, they're all over the place on Ebay, most of them go for around $200. I noticed a decent gain with mine, its a good N/A intake and really helped after I ported my heads. Good luck

Will just an intake help?
I found an explorer intake on ebay but they wanted over $300 + shipping. I could get a cobra for that. I found a C&L 76mm MAF for $209 |

yes it will help, just not a WHOLE lot. You should also try to find some used GT40 Iron heads (not the P's) or port the ones you've got.
The C&L 76mm with the aluminum intake tube looks like a great deal. I think its $209, is that the one your talking about? by the way, what 60ft time did you get with that 13.69, thats a pretty good et for that mph, must have hooked pretty good

Get the meter. It is a huge restriction. You will probably pick up another 1 to 1.5 mph with that alone. On slicks with a low 1.8 60 ft I bet you would see 13.30's or so.
