differences in injectors?
I have been having problems getting my mustang to idle after replacing the intake and pulling the codes it shows a 91 which says "o2 sensor problem, faulty regulator, or out of balance injectors" the o2 sensors have been replaced, plan on trying the regulator as soon as I figure out my current question which is about the injectors. It had the stock injectors and I happened to run across a set of relatively new 19 lb injectors for $20 so I coulden't pass them up. I put them on an the car woulden't even attempt to fire. I put two of the old injectors back on. (just two because that is all I could get to without taking the intake back off) and it started firing of those two cylinders. My question is were there some differences between the injectors of different years or something? the injectors look identical with the same color tops so they should be 19 lb but I don't know why they would not be pulsing? any ideas?

That probably has alot to do with why they only cost $20. Did you clear the codes after replacing the o2 sensors?

I agree, the $20 set are probably junk. I recently posted about changing out a bad injector with a newer 4 hole injector. I swapped them out today and the engine runs great, even though it doesn't match the other 7 injectors. I bet the injectors are all stuck closed or have some other problem with them. Did you ask the seller why he/she was selling them?
Are you sure you reconnected everything? |
I would just get the rebuild kit for the injectors I mean for all 8 it would cost about the same as one injector and it did the trick for me and my stock 19#ers

Basicaly for $20 bucks I figured it was worth a shot. I actually ran into the guy in the parts store where he worked. I wasn't expecting any miracles but it was worth a shot. Just seems weird to me that ALL 8 didn't work at all. It was like they were a incompatible or something. I'm not freating over it I was just wondering. And I did reset the computer after the O2 sensors. I"m thinking the most likely suspect is the fuel regulator. but I can't check the pressure b/c I dont' have an adaptor to fit the valve on the fuel line to my guage. They make rebuild kit? what all does it consist of? and where do you get it? Ford?

I have a set of 24# injectors and a 75mm Pro-M MAF sensor to go with them. You interested?

Adapter for fuel pressure gauge
I just bought an adapter for my shredder valve on my EFI Mustang. I bought it from Napa. It cost me 23 dollars. It fits right up to My Auto Meter Fuel Pressure gauge and hoses that are recommended for the gauge. I seems like Summit Racing always sells me a good performance parts but never gets me everything I need. Napa actually came through. Sorry I like to b---- about part stores. I don't trust them.

I'll try checkin next time I have a chance. I tried autozone once and got negative results but I didn't look around anywhere else.

Part number
I found my receipt to the shradder adapter from Napa Auto Parts. The female end of the shradder valve was part number 700-1295. Try that adaptor it worked perfect with my auto meter.

Cool Thanks. I will try to get down there tomorrow so I can see if I need to rule out my regulator or not.
