93 GT broken caliper bolt..help!!
Hi everyone! I accidently broke the front brake caliper bolt which holds the brake pad, while changing pads the other day ( I must of over torque it). The problem is most of the bolt is stuck in the caliper! So I need to remove the caliper and take it to a machinist to drill out the broken piece of screw.. Question is, how much does this cost? I thought of getting new calipers but, to my dismay, I went to the Ford dealer and they told me that they no longer manufacture calipers for 93 GT's, so I need to go to an aftermarket manufacturer. They DID say that they sell the screws, but at $60 a pop!! (I couldn't believe it!).
What should I do?? Should I remove the calipers and go to a machinist to remove the stuck thread and then buy new screws? or should I buy new OEM calipers with screws too, but where? Any suggestions? If anybody knows of an aftermarket manuf., please let me know! later! happy holidays! fongo
