Default T5 HELP, lining up tailshaft. Please READ!

Hi,
I am having a problem...............
I was wondering if you could help me out with a ??

I can't get the tailshaft housing to line back up when reassembling??

It comes about 1/2 in. from it ??

I read somewhere that th OD brake ring had to be in a certain position??

Is this true?? If so how do I do it???

Are there any online T5 manuals to refer to???????

Thanx for any info.

LOBE

Yep, you are right about the overdrive gear ring. It looks like a piece of metal with a tab on the edge of it. Its on the end of the overdrive gear assembly. Not on the tailshaft but the gear with the synchro. The metal tab has to line up with the cutout area on the tailshaft housing. Im pretty sure the tab has to be straight up when installing the housing but look at the housing to see where the cutout is just to be sure. I hope this helps. I have already put 4 T5's in my car. im thinking of getting a Tremec next.
