Default MSD distributor?

I just bought a MSD distributor after going thru 4 stock ones in 2 months and was wondering how everyone else likes the MSD distributors. Do they stand up to heat well?

I've heard the MSD's used to have a problem with not dropping into the distributor hole all the way, and some people had to machine the housing a little bit to make it fit. That was a while ago though, and I'm sure MSD has fixed the problem by now.
What caused the 4 distributor failures in two months? That seems a little extreme.

seems to be a serious heat issue from what I have been told.. Under the hood temps might be getting a little extreme possibly from equal length headers or something. Car temp is fine. I am also looking into checking the oil pump shaft and pump itself for possibly freezing up. it shouldn't be a problem at 65K but you never know i guess..
