do high volume oil pumps promote leaking???
100+ miles on the new motor, and it appears the rear main is leaking.....
Oil pressure runs between 50-70 psi on an aftermarket guage.. when I parked it today, after a short trip into town, I noticed oil dripping from the bell housing.... or could it be a front tranny seal?????? ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects, shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap)bored .060, 10.5" clutch, T5,89 ported heads, edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam, 600 Holley, high volume oil pump, front P235/60/R15's, rear P245/60/R15's..... Some day (3:73 gears & N2O)!!! will this ever end???? |

Check to see what kind of fluid it is. The T-5 runs DexcronIII tranny fluid and it's red. Sounds like your rear main seal though. High volume oil pumps do not go well in small block Fords. Causes all kinds of problems.
