Unhappy Do I need 2 b afraid

Hi All,

I'm fairly new to the (injected) 5.0 Scene. I just bought a 93 GT, 67 000 miles, K&N conical filter, Hurst shifter, lowered, 3.08's (soon to be 3.55's), T5 w/centerforce clutch and billet flywheel, and cat back flowmasters. Nothing too major. A good friend of mine just bought a brand new F350 deisel. He says he raced a 5.0 and beat the hell out of it. I know newer cars are getting quicker but this sounds far fetched to me (unless the 5.0 in question was in bad shape) I'm going to drive minreout there this summer and he is already betting me $100 he can take me in the quarter mile. Talking all kinds of smack about his ride. His truck also (so he says) has a chip. I dont know if the deisel is turbo'd or not. I would be soooo embarrased if he blew me away in a huge truck.

Should I be worried?
