TRACK TIMES.....and I think I am plagued.
Ok here we go....I am EXTREMELY disappointed, but I think I know why. And I busted the beotch again....kinda funny, I am still in a daze.
I only ran twice and you will see why. This run my clutch was slipping some. But I managed to rip off a 11. 60ft: 2.251 330ft: 5.326 1/8 mi: 7.696@103.97 1000ft: 9.678 1/4 mi: 11.249@126.83 They told me after tonight not to come back because I don't have a cage or a harness. I have everything else, just not a cage or a harness. They were relatively cool. WEll as you know, none of you would have been happy with a 11.25 when you had a best of 11.49 with 85 less hp. So I let it cool for about 2 hours and decided to go again. I did a awsm burnout and they put some compound down about 2 runs before me. Here it is.... I stage....yellow light comes on, I stop. I am running a 12.20 GN. yellow.....yellow, yellow, GREEN, and I drop the hammer and nail it out of the hole.....I hit 2nd and BOOM, clank clank clank. I just sat there and laughed my a$$ off. I don't know why, it was kinda like that part on christmas vacation when Clark flips out and tells everyone to stay after he flipped out. I just laughed. I wasn't pissed or anything. Today I am a little depressed, but oh well, I guess it comes with the territory. From past experiences, I think I broke my main shaft. Brand freakin new tranny, I guess I just got greedy out of the hole. But hey I had the GN till she broke. I have a tranny guy, and this is probably a 300 $ fix, so I am ok with that. Thank God I had a friends there that had a trailer and lived about 5 minutes from the track. Damn that sucks, dude. What tranny did you have in that thing? With a blown 347 and 500rwhp the old T-5 probably isn't the top of the line choice, lol.
Good luck with getting that thing back together, hate to hear it take a dive like that. |

Yeah that was on slicks, but I didn't give it much time to cool off. My clutch slipped some and I think that was why I had a bad 60ft. I was spending the rest of the track trying to play catch up with my bad 60ft....I raced a 98 T/A that ran a 12.846@109.47. He kicked me out of the hole. But once the clutch grabbed I caught him pretty quickly. I hope to have it fixed within the next 2 weeks though.

Dustin sorry to hear about the issues you had but your right it comes with the territory and I am also known to have the Griswold complex at times
I would seriously look at the STAR Stage III like I have it will hold all that power you are making and will not slip. I have 3 mainshafts sitting here broken in half, it's a just the weak link with lots of torque. ------------------ Check Out My Site 91GT,[bSpeedbrain ECU[/b],Holley SysteMAX II Kit-Heads 2.02" x 1.60" port matched to a 1262,Anderson N-61,30#,76mm C&L,75mm Accufab, Full MAC, No A/C or PS or emissions, 12" K&N Filter,RNH PERFORMANCE Ram Air,Ron Davis Radiator,Full Suspension, SPEC stage III clutch, Lakewood SFI bell, S&W 8pt "X" brace,JAZ seats,3:73's,Welds..etc,4:30's and 33 splines coming very soon! <B |
