![]() what is it for? vibration? i pulled that thing off a long time ago, but this one guy told me it has to be on there, or my d/s bolts will come loose, which they have twice, im talking about that extra weight bolted to the rearend.

![]() lol...that guy was pulling your leg....You dont need it as far as I know, and even if you did, it would have absolutly no affect on your drive shaft bolts. try tightening them down more. Get a hollow pipe for leverage on the end of your wrench

![]() I took mine off too. I just had my gears installed and the guy at the shop told me my drive shaft bolts were very loose. Don't know if the 2 had anything to do with each other, but it is possible.

![]() That 'dogbone' weight is an NVH dampener and can be safely removed. It's useless if you change rear gears, anyway.
As for loose U-joint bolts. the weight has nothing to do with them at all. You're either being BS'ed or the guy who told you that is a moron. Take your pick. |

![]() mr 50 is correct..they were only made to balence the stock gears of the car..take that thing off and use Loctite on the DS bolts like the factory called for..

![]() i agree, i took off my weight and havent had any problems with loose driveshaft bolts, i was told once you put a gear in it is useless. it saves some weight too(its pretty heavy)those guys were pulling your leg
