Sounds a little slow with your mods. Are you spinning real bad off the line. What are your 60ft times.I would say 14.50s-60s with your current setup. Get some good heads and watch your times drop.

basically, yes, you should be running faster. I will assume your car is running great, so ill just bypass problems with your engine. I will take your word from it when you say "grip," that you have traction. So I will suggest that you should launch higher cuz I have never seen a street racer not spin just a bit at the track....You will prolly get a better time, then get some suspension stuff to take away the spin and, thus, delivers another better ET. Also, shift on your own next time...maybe that may help. Maybe even shifting earlier, if you can. Try this before the motor heads get to this topic, because if you are not a mechanic yourself, chances are they are gonna suggest looking into a problem that involves a lot of work. Me, heh, I know what goes into my car, I dont know how it gets there.

I launch at 1800 RPMS with sticky tire compound . not much spin off line but around 3000 rpm it will break a little loose. its wierd. and when I shift my self the computer will retard timing really bad, almost like there is a fool cut off. P.S I will be getting the pro-m computer soon

Mine went a 15.1 @93mph in 55* low humidity weather. My timing was at 14* It weighs at 3300 lbs.

With better timing you should be in the 14's.

With your your MPH or 60' we cant tell if the problem is driving or in the motor.

Get back to the track and get that info.

If you have a 2500 rpm stall converter, why do you only launch at 1800 rpm? I would think it would slow you down if you try to launch much under the stall speed.

Cool

I think you could be UP TO 1 second off your cars "potential" 1/4 run. If you didn't have slicks, and didn't spin.......you launched way too low and I think it'd be safe to say that your 60' was high. But like Skyler said, it's tough to say w/out knowing the exact 60' and mph.

Guys,

You can't just "launch" an AOD at whatever rpm you want, even if it's below the stall rpm...unless you have a tranny break....mmmm...a tranny brake....droool . The highest you can rev your motor with the brakes on without moving represents your "brake stall" which will be well below your actual stall speed. On my car, with a 2800 rpm converter, I can only rev to just under 2000 before rolling. Now if I had huge Brembo discs on the front, it would be a different story....mmmmmm....Brembo discs......drooool.

You likely need more stall. With the mods you have, and especially with the lack of heads and intake, you've pushed your power band further up the tach.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but maybe some of the guys can give some advice for easier fixes.

the brakes give after 1800 RPM, and I think My timing chain might be worn, because when I checked my timing it was at 8* and stock is 10* I bumped it to 12*. could a worn timing chain cause such a terriable E.T time.

Maybe you don't listen man, but with out 60' and MPH your really just guessing here. Is that really what you want to do?

To find out if you have a problem or not you need those numbers. Yes that timing could have knocked off .3 or so.
