![]() I was wanting everyone's opinion. On a basically stock car (see sig.), within the next 2-3 months, I'm wanting to either get a mild supercharger or new heads/cam combo. Either way I'm probably getting new intake to go with it. Within the next couple of years, I plan on having both items along with all the other support items which I know I'll need. My initial thoughts are to get the sc (probably A-trim), & in the meantime go ahead and put some miles on the stock heads and replace them later. Does this sound like a good place to start?
Thanks in advance. ------------------ '89 LX 5spd w/ 56K, MAC shorties & H-pipe, Flowmasters, 3.73 gears, Moroso cold air |

![]() I would get the heads and cam now, then get the right blower later. An A-trim won't keep anyone happy for long.

![]() Since your car only has 56k, I'd go with the supercharger. More bang for the buck and less labor involved. Replace your intake manifold and get some bigger injectors.
Don't get the A-trim. Start with the S-trim. ------------------ Eric - 89 Mustang LX coupe 302 - Cobra Intake - GT40p heads - TFS stage 1 cam - FRPP 1.6 roller rockers - Naturally Aspirated 3:73 gears - KYB shocks and struts - Eibach springs - HPM Mega-bite Jr lower control arms - HPM upper control arms |

![]() I know the S-trim is built better and is capable of much more boost. The extra $1100 is what is pushing me toward the A-trim. I agree about the S-trim, but I'm not really concerned about getting that extra 1/2-to-3/4 second in 1/4 right now.I'm wanting a car that will be fun to drive, have the sc sound, and give me that little extra boost that I've never had. It's hard enough to talk yourself into dropping $1900 on a sc, much less $3k. Bottom line is money. My main question I've been asking myself is would I be happier with the A-trim on my car wishing I had an S-trim. Or with nothing on my car saving up for another year or 2 for an S-trim,(which when it comes down to it, my wife would kill me when she sees the $3k on the credit card bill!) She's ok with the $1900 for now.

![]() for what it is worth, the A-trim CAN be pulleyed to get i think 9-10lbs of boost max, i dont know a whole lot about superchargers but i think the a trim just has a smaller impeller than the s-trim and has to be spun faster to produce the same boost
note to the guys who know what they are talking about, please tell me im wrong if i am ------------------ 88 Notch, B&M Ripper, 3.73's, Ported E7's, Explorer int. w/ ported lower, pulleys, 1.7RR's, BBK headers, off-road H-pipe, flowmasters, subframes, 65mm TB, March ram air ,MSD coil, U/L control arms, 155lph f/p, Crane Adj.FPR, Nitto drag radials, best 1/4--> 13.76@101.4 on a 2.17 60ft |
