does this make sense

i jsut finished my combo and i am having major oil problems. i have two breathers on the valve covers and whenever i beat on the car oil blows either out the oil pan or rear main seal not sure but its one of those. cant tell cause the morroso pan is big an i realy can't see up in there to well all i know is that it is comming down the back of the oil pan. so im figuring it must be building up pressure when i beat on it. Is there a way i can get rid of this. and also i dont have a dipstick i pluged the whole off and have a bolt in the side of the oil pan till i get my new dipstick. is the dipstick supposed to be a vent for the crankcase. if anyone has a suggestion why this is happening i would be very thankfull or if anyone has a solution would be even better

What kind of oil pump do you have?

Did you remove the baffles from inside the valve covers?

Are you sure it's not the gasket/silicone at the back of the intake?

Take care,
~Chris

im positive its not the back of the intake or the valve covers its a stock oil pump and yes the baffels are still in they are aftermarket fms valve covers and no its not comming out the dipstick hole and i just changed the rear main seal but like i said it only leaks alot when i beat on the car and it leaks for a while when it just sits in my garage not even running

Are you POSITIVE you put all the rings on correctly (correct side facing up)?

302crew 10-08-2002 10:08 PM

are you reffering to the rings on the pistons i would hope they are on corectly a rebutable machine shop put my bottom end together and i have about 150 psi of compression and yes i just put the rear main seal in

I have had trouble with morroso pans leaking.

Also if your end play is way out on your crank it will often blow out the rear main seal. Ask the shop what the end play was on your crank.

the end play on the crank was fine

do you think it could be the gasket in the back of the oil pan is Fed up and when i beat oin it the oil is pressed against it and it just drips alot cause oil likes to drip forever
