don't know where I'm going
I know this is windsor stuff, but I have a cleveland and I'm not sure who to ask on this. Does the cleveland bolt right up to a 94 mustang. or who should I ask?

Putting a Cleveland into a 94 up car I assume you'll be running a carb so really all you need is headers, mounts, oil pan and pickup.. I suggest giving Holcomb Motorsports a call. They carry alot of swap parts that will set you up nicely.
The rest of your swap will be straight forward efi to carb swap. Hope this helps. Bradley

thanks. It looks like the block of the Cleveland is similar to the 302, so I could use all of the same mounts, brackets and stuff off of the 302, but that's if they are the same.

im pretty sure the heads are the only difference between a cleveland and a windsor but i could be wrong

You can't just mount up the 302 accesory brackets to the Cleveland. There is a company that makes or made adapter plates to do so, though. A guy on the 351C/Big Block forum at the Corral was trying to sell a set a while back. If you don't want A/C and have all the brackets for the C, you can run the wp, alt, and p/s with a k6 (serpentine) belt.
Note: This is for 351C's Here's how: Disclaimer: This was not written by me, but I have used the setup. --87BOSS351C Pulleys I used w/power steering October 26 2002, 1:35 PM All, For those of you who wish to change belts to the "K6" style, here is some usefull info. Find a mid 80's Lincoln and you can steal the pulleys and bolt them on directly. There is one catch, you will be overdriving the water pump and alternator. The factory pulleys have approx ratio of: ALT = 2.41:1 @ 5,000 RPM = 12,045 W/P = 0.96:1 @ 5,000 RPM = 4,815 (under-driven) P/S = 1.13 :1 @ 5,000 RPM = 5,650 Using the crank pulley from the 5.0 Linclon (has 2 K6 Belts) provides these ratios: ALT = 3.14:1 @ 5,000 RPM = 15,690 W/P = 1.17:1 @ 5,000 RPM = 5,885 P/S = 1.15 :1 @ 5,000 RPM = 5,769 The crank and water pump line up perfect. The alternator needs shimmed out about 0.140" or shim the pulley itself. The power steering will need to go back about 0.280". CHANGES: For the V-belt, the cranks inner pulley turned the water pump and power steering. The alternator ran solo from the outer crank V-belt groove. With the K6 belt, the Power steering is solo from the inner crank pulley and the water pump and alternator now share a belt. Everything turns the same direction as it did. As you can see the Alternator will scream at 6500 RPM. The fix, go find a Ford Aerostar, the alternator has a 2.5" K6 pulley, its about 1/4" to 5/16" larger than the Lincoln. This should provide a ratio of 2.76 (13,848 @ 5,000). However, the best fix would be to reduce the outer groove of the crank to 5.75". This would underdrive the Alt and W/P just below the stock RPM's of the V-belt. After doing the math, and seeing shift points at 6,500 RPM, the ALTernator survived several passes at 20,000 RPM. Sweet! As you can see, at High RPM's the water pump may cavitate and cause cooling problems. In my case, It dropped the coolant temp by about 8 deg on a street driven machine. The swap did stop the belt squeal @ $2.50 a pulley from the wrecking yard, even though it is overdriving the accessories. When I find a crank pulley that works, I will post (it been 5 months now). PS - you can also bolt the clutch and fan assembly on inplace of your flex fan. Untill your ready to spend more than I did, I would stay with the V-belts. All the parts are lighter and the ratios are correct. Regards, /randy

Also, the Cleveland and Windsor are 2 completly different engines. Almost nothing interchanges. They do however use the same motor mounts and bellhousings. Flywheels and dampers do interchange but the Cleveland uses the old style 28 oz balance factor where your 94 302 would have the 50 oz. Make sure you get the right one for the C (any year 351W flywheel/balancer would work).
