as for the electric portion of your problem , both will stop working if the wires running to the master(drivers side) are broken. this is exceptionally common on power lock autos. it most typically occurs in the door jam area when you open your door, you see a small accordian like tube going into the door. this contains all the wiring for power controls. right in the middle the wires actually break! soldering pigtails(thats what we call them anyways)(short pieces of wire)in between where they broke to join them up again solves this for a long time. remember to tape them up real good again before reassembly. as for why they both wont open with a key is truly baffeling to me , never heard of this.both you say?

The reason you can't lock/unlock with the key is because the lock motors have probably burned up and seized. Thats what happened to one of mine. You can disconnect the linkage going to the lock motors so you can lock/unlock until you find the problem and get new lock motors.

When you remove the lock motors you'll see how they screw up/down to unlock/lock.
