drag radials vs cheater slicks or regular slicks
I have a set of BFG 275/50/15 drag radials that hook great on the street, very little spin. But my first time at the track I was spinning terribly 2 weeks ago. Worst was a 2.39 best was a 1.96 60ft, I did mess with air pressure and found 18 worked the best. I have a C4 with 3K stall and 4.10's and it was about 90 that day. Slick cars had no traction problems at all. The 1.96 I was feathering the gas and finally felt confident to mash the gas at about the 60 ft. mark. My question is would the ET streets or Hoosier QT pros substantially cut a better 60 ft than the DR's? I don't want to waste 350.00, if I ultimately need a slick to get the traction. But if the wrinkle wall DOT's are only a 1/10 behind the slick I would rather stay in the street tire class. I did run a 8.2 at 86 mph so I know with traction I can reduce my overall et by quite a bit. My rear suspension is SSM lowers, battle boxes, Jegs adj uppers, 50/50 shocks, pinion set at -6. Thanks for reading.
