"Quick" Anyone know anything about McCreary drag tires (Any good?)
My nittos are toast. I have a chance to buy some of these used but I have never heard of them.

I used McCreary dirt compound tires for years on all of my street cars. I was able to pull high 1.6 60s with a stock rearend in a 68 GTO. They seemed to hook for me, but wore out real quick. I guess if you want to play, you got to pay!

I used G60s on my first mustang and ran L60s on my second stang. Yes they are considered dirt track tires, but they do hook. I pulled mostly 1.7x 60' in the first car and pulled high 1.5x, low 1.6x in the second car. Most people in my area run these over most of the other brands of street/strip tires.

They are bisexual...I have used them both ways! If you go tubes, be sure to use a valve stem lock to keep the stem from spinning up inside the rim. If this happens, big knife time.

Were the Nittos the drag radial type and if so, how long did they last you?

My nittos are the drag radials. My car is not street driven at all. When I go to the track I do a small burnout before every run. With the nittos I would squeel half way throuh first and then they would hook. I was pulling 2.0 60ft times with an 88 vert with stock suspension and front sway bar still in. Its actually only my passenger side tire that is bald in the center the driver side tire still has half the tread left. To answer your question my nittos survived about 70-85 passes down the track. I went from a 2.26 60ft on street tires to 2.0 60ft on nitto drag radials. All in all I liked them. ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers, mac cold air fender kit, 3.73 FMS gears, Steeds Tri-ax shifter, Steeda underdrive pullies, Custom off road X-pipe, 2 chamber flow masters, cowl hood, nitto drag radials, ford racing clutch, 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires.
