DSS compression/ milling questions/ pushrods

Im in the process of putting together a DSS pro bullet 306. Im going to be using edelbrock performer heads (1.90/1.60 60cc). I want the compression to be 10:5:1 or as close to it as possible. DSS said in order to achieve 10:5:1 i need to mill the heads to 54cc. Ive been told that .006 = 1 cc so that means id have to mill .036. I dont want to have to mill the intake though. Does anyone know if milling the heads .036 will be too much for the intake to fit??? How about .030?? Another thing im worried about is needing different size pushrods, Im going to be using comp cam xe270hr12 (.544/.544 218/224 112lsa) and 1.7 pedestal mount roller rockers. So between the heads being milled and the bigger cam will i need different size pushrods?

My machine shop said that .030" off the heads was the max I would want to go without milling the intake. I have TFS TW heads that were hogged out pretty good and thus we ended up having to take of .048" to net me 58cc chambers and 10:1 compression with my flat tops. It was a no-brainer to get the intake milled as well in order for the ports to line up. It was only $60 to mill the intake and well worth it. The fit was perfect. At .036" you'll be pushing it. I would bet that you'll notice some misalignment in the ports.

Because you are milling the heads your pushrods will need to be shorter. Just grab yourself an adjustable pushrod length checker from Summit and see what length you need. Summit sells several length ranges (they are TFS brand).
