Dyno Predictions/Preparation Tips?
Hello,
This is what I will be running with. I am wondering what kind of numbers I should throw down and what smaller type things I could do to bump up the numbers (stuff I should do beforehand). - Stock Injectors (19#) - MAC Cold Air Intake - 65 MM Granetelli Mass Air Flow Sensor - BBK Equal-Shorty Headers - BBK Off-Road X-Pipe - MAC Cat-Back Exhaust - 3.55 Gears (I know...) - Cobra Upper Intake Manifold - Cobra Upper Lower Manifold - E-303 Cam - Timing at 16* - I think I can take it higher...like 17 or 18 - Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator I was thinking about maybe getting some new injectors, but I think 30# would be overkill and I head 24# injectors aren't very good (something about not being efficient). Any comments about the injectors or anything else? Predictions? Thanks, DoranW |
I think you'll be ok with 19 lb injector, there good for about 350 hp. I'd probly change oil, and plugs before going. also a clean air filter. check little thing like when was last time for new cap and rotor and how old are the plug wires. My guess is around 245 r.w.h.p. i don't think the e-cam will do much with stock unported heads. Timing is not hard to change and you can try diff settings on dyno. They usualy give you 3 runs so you could try changing timing there.

I'd be happy if I could get 245 out of where I stand now (after minor tuning)... :)

What type of dyno will you be using? A Dynojet or a Mustang dyno? The readings can be drastically different.

I haven't picked a spot yet. Is one more accurate? Which would you guess for each of them? Chances are it will be a dynojet, though.

On your first post you said you had 3.55s & an E-303 cam...then the next reply you stated that you had 3.73s & a B-303 cam. What's up? Are you the same person? Strange? With all the mods you have...you definitely need to upgrade your heads. You are not getting the full benefit of all those other mods you've done to help more air get into your motor. And definitely step up to 24lb. injectors once you upgrade your heads. Don't know where you got the info. about 24lb. injectors?? I've been building and modifying Mustangs for over 10 years and have never heard of 24lb. injectors not being effecient...or having problems. It's just an injector...not much to it really. Let us know what kind of numbers that pony pulls. |
Yeah, my profile needs to be updated :)
I have 3.55 and E-303... Thanks DoranW |
I've also heard that 24lb injectors are crap. I mean they work but i heard you can take 4 different 24lb injectors and flow test them and get 4 completely different flow rates for em. I guess if your gonna step up to 24's just go get the flow matched, then theres no problem.
