Nuf said! Cam manufacturer's try to give you a few choices, with "all things considered". This means that they "ballpark" the cam, regarding your intake, heads, headers, comp. ratio. etc etc. Also according to what you want out of the cam, ie. idle quality, fuel mileage, HORSEPOWER, etc etc.
A custom cam is built for YOUR engine, and YOUR needs. You want Fuel mileage, you got it. You want HP, it's all you. The only drawback here, is when you "upgrade" you no longer have the optimal cam. But when you go off the shelf, you NEVER had the optimal cam. Spend the few extra bucks now, well, well, well, worth the cheddar! May I recommend Cam Motion?
