Question Edelbrock garbage

Ok here's the problem. I have a 7181 Perfromer RPM cam and lifter kit. When we put the motor together the first time we used the stock rocker arms. When the motor starts and idles there was alot of valve clater, which immediately goes away after the motor revs past idle, and the motor got up to 210 degress real fast. We called Edelbrock and they said that we had to use 1.6 ratio bolt down adjustable rocker arms. Found Omegas (couldnt find any other brand). They dont bolt all the way down. Now what. I cant call Edelbrock or Central Coast tonight, so what the hell am I supposed to do now. I am at the point that I want to remove the edelbrock garbage and start anew!!!!!!!!
