Edelbrock heads?
I would like o get a set of Edelbock aluminum heads for when I put the 306 in the Ranger. I was looking at a "Kit" that comes with the heads, intake, cam, lifters, and carb. I really dont know the specifics on the cam or heads but is it a good idea to buy this all together or piece together from different companies? How much are a set of Tws heads? Can I a good Holley or Edelbrock intake and carb. with those heads? I am not against using a complete system from Holley but cant find one that I really like.

I use the edelbrock heads and really like them but as for the carb I think the holley is way better. I think the cam that comes with the edelbrock kit is also flat tappet insted of roller.

If you are wanting performance or cost friendly, the TFS Street Heat Intake, Stage 1 cam and TW heads are no comparison to the Edelbrock kit.
The heads are $1000 Intakes are $400 and the cam is about $150 300 rwhp for $1550 ain't bad....especially when the next cheapest kit, the SystemMax is $2000, and the only good thing about that kit is the intake IMO. Although Rick91GT's new heads seemed to get his car into the low low low 12's. ------------------ Dustin Saleenized 89 GT,428 rwhp,TFS Street Heat Intake,TFS TW Heads,TFS #2 cam,BD-11A 9 psi,FRPP 1.6 rr's,BBK 70mm TB,Pro-M 75mm Bullet,MSD 6BTM, FMS 9mm wires,BBK longtubes,BBK Short H-pipe,American Thunder cat back,3.55's 12.3@119 http://www.mustangworks.com/rides/pictures/Listing1549-slot1.jpg |

Saleengts: is that kit for a carb. I dont want to run EFI. I want a clean looking engine bay that I can work on. I can't work on an EFI system. I already have a e-303 cam but can get a new if it will be better for that combo.

Which intake would you use. I plan on at least a 750 cfm carb. I also want roller rockers. Should I use 1.6, 1.7 or what. I don't have the cam in my possesion but can get it cheap and also a set of 1.6 rollers. A good way to go?

I found this on the internet It state:
A 89 Ford Ranger with a 302, Edelbrock heads and intake, Trickflow cam, five speed, 8.8 rearend with 3.73 gears, 26X10 mt slicks, 3540 pounds with driver ran an 12.856 @104.56 in the quarter. It said the truck had clutch problems (engagement). Since I don't know if I will still get a Ranger or Mustang (read I'm pissed in the Blue oval) Which would run faster the Ranger or Mustang setup exactly the same? ------------------ '93 lx 4 banger, wrecked '90 lx 5.0, w/ t-5. .030 over fully ported and polihed (did that just to see if I could-first attempt at it). Definately the stang.....lighter, more aerodynamic, and better weight transfer...If that exact motor was in a Stang, you'd prolly see 12.50's @ 107-108.
