Got a steal on heads! Will this put me over the top on my fuel system?
I just happened across a local that is selling a set of stage 1 ported Edelbrock Performer heads for $700. I didn't hesitate to pick them up. But I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet and finally upgrade my fuel system.
What kind of fuel system should I get with these mods: K&N FIPK, Edelbrock 70mm tb, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, heats spacer, Edelbrock Performer heads (Not installed yet), mac equal length headers, stock h-pipe, Dynomax Ultra-Flo exhaust. Keep in mind I currently have a stock fuel system including air meter. This is a '94 GT which I believe may have a better fuel pump than the '93 and below.

I'd prolly go with 30lb injectors and a good mass air flow sensor to match it as well as a 255 lph pump. This is a lil more than you really need but the cost is basically the same as a smaller system and you will have the room to upgrade later and not have to upgrade the fuel system again. Oh and I'd prolly go with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator also just for good measure.

you will be okay with the stock injectors. they are good up untill 300HP. You will be under that with the edelbrock combo, and since you won't be running a cam. Save the Inj. upgrade for when you decide to go bigger on the combo, or if you can pick up a set of 24's or 30's for a good price. Don't forget the matching Air meter, and I would upgrade on the fuel pump, and FPR.

I installed my used $700.00 Edelbrock 6025 heads yesterday. I have a ported cobra intake and a E cam. Long tube headers, a race crank pully short belt, all msd ignition, 65mmTB, 4.30s, ect..... I also have STOCK 19LB INJECTORS. I went on a 15 mile test drive last night, with the fuel set at 40psi. The car pulls extreamly hard, and have NO problems with fuel or injectors. Untill you have problems, don't sweat the small stuff.

88workcar, disregard my reply in your other thread i asked what heads you were running
Yea i seen some fast cars using 19lb'ers, some people seem to just replace the high miler stock 19's with a new set of 19's to make sure everything is running fine, but i was thinking about going 24's, but after seeing numbers like 88workcars, i dont think i need them yet, maybe when i hook up a bottle....I run a 190 pump now, but i used to run low 13's all day on a stock autozone pump, and if im not mistaken, the 94-95 stock pumps flow 110lph which beats the stock 88lp i was running......just a thought.

My heads have 6025 stamped on them, that's Edelbrocks number for the complete 2.02 valve heads. I wasn't going to buy them but after we brought them home and measured them with a caliper we couldn't get the measurement to go over 1.90 no matter how we measured them. Why would 6025 be stamped in them?
Are you guys suggesting I still get a better fuel pump? I think I heard 255lph. And since I'm staying with the stock injectors, will I need to raise my fuel pressure above the stock 40psi? If so I'll need to add an adjustable regulator to my shopping list.

Adam, that is the same casting that I have. And I also have the 1.90s. I originally looked up the #s and it said 2.02. I orderd a cam with telling the cam man that I had 2.02s. So now that I know, I could have had a bigger cam.

I still got my 19lb injectors. and trying to keep it from running constantly rich.

That's reassuring. I did buy the 255lph fuel pump and that will go in this weekend. I won't be able to install the heads until next weekend
I still don't know if I need a pressure regulator. My Mustang performance handbook says it's a must but I've heard people going without them.

yea i know a guy that has 24's and a bigger pump, and no afpr, his car runs surprisingly good, but i would like to see his plugs after a hard wot run.

With every thing I just done, heads and stuff, I even hit the 100hp Dry NOS Fri, and the 19s were still goood for it.

Adam, I had 8psi of Boost on this thing and it would not run with 24s. But ran well with the 19s. Plenty of fellas on here will tell this is so, because they helped me dail it in. Over camming and over fueling are the too biggest mistakes people make.
